Tour Itinerary

A Perfectly paced day designed for an unforgettable experience

First Taste of Mountain City:

  • 11:00 AM complimentary pickup from your hotel

White Elephant Residential Complex:

  • First glimpse of the “8D city”. A 25-story apartment building with no elevator — a wildly complex residential system built on a steep hillside in the early 90s.

Option A: Light of Tongyuan City Balcony:

  • A scenic mountaintop viewing platform offering a stunning view of the main peninsula.
  • “Tong Yuan” means copper coins in Chinese, which is what this area was known for in the late Qing Dynasty when it operated as a mint.
  • The design of the City Balcony is inspired by the round shape of those traditional copper coins.

Option B: Firefly Harbor Rescued Cat Theme Park

  •  China’s first theme park dedicated to rescued cats in Chongqing

  • This location is newly opened this year (2026), it can be very crowded, especially on weekends

  • Admission: 20 RMB per person, paid on-site at your own expense

Houbao Park:

  • Houbao Park is a quiet little hillside park tucked just behind the busy streets of downtown Chongqing.
  • It’s known for its peaceful walking paths, pockets of greenery, and open viewpoints overlooking the city’s layered skyline.
  • Locals come here to relax, stretch their legs, and enjoy a slower pace right in the middle of the urban core.

Guinness record breaking world's biggest hotpot restaurant

  • Take a look of the largest hotpot restaurant in the world: Pipayuan Shiweixian Hotpot (by seating capacity)
  • Xianlongjing: Another beautiful outdoor garden-style hotpot spot.
  • You may choose these two as your lunch option.

Lunch on the Nanshan Mountain

  • Option A: JiuJiu Stir Fried Beef
  • Option B: Hotpot at Pipayuan or Xianlongjing
  • Option C: Quanshuiji (Spring Water Chicken)
  • Option D: Or simply snack around the Huangjueya Old Street on your next stop

Huangjueya Old Street & Sanmao Former Residence

  • A charming historic street lined with old Chongqing houses, teahouses, and local crafts.
  • Home to the former residence of writer Sanmao, where you can glimpse the early life of one of modern China’s most beloved literary figures.

Laojundong Taoist Temple:

  • A serene century-old Taoist complex built along the cliffs, blending traditional architecture with mountain scenery
  • A peaceful stop to experience local spirituality and Chongqing’s hillside culture.

Xiahao Lane:

  • Once a rundown neighborhood, now reborn as Chongqing’s own version of SoHo — stylish, neon, and irresistibly photogenic.

End the Night Option A: Landmark Riverside Park

  • **Sartuday Drone Show Viewing Spot** (Subject to weather and scheduling)
  • A modern riverside complex featuring the largest Mixue Bingcheng flagship ice cream store and the charming Danzishi Old Street.
  • Hu Gui Shi Park: A serene viewpoint combining a traditional pavilion in the foreground with a dramatic skyline backdrop.
  • A perfect spot for memorable photos before your hotel drop-off.

End the Night Option B: Yangtze River Cable Car:

  • The iconic mode of transport from the 1980s, long before modern bridges. Now a scenic ride offering a classic view of the city.
  • (Additional 30 CNY per guest for the cable car ticket)
  • Eyes of Cloud Observation Deck:
  • One of Chongqing’s tallest outdoor decks with panoramic views of downtown.
  • (Additional 68 CNY per guest for the observation deck ticket)
