We really enjoyed seeing parts of the city we wouldn’t reach on our own

We loved our walking tour, we saw and learnt so much. Our guide Listening was very knowledgable and so nice. We went to alot of places that I don’t think we would have found on our own. The multi level local neigbourhoods and river/city view points were impressive. We learnt alot about Chongqing’s history and current way of life.

We took the Wulong Mountain tour, which included a visit to the 816 Nuclear Military Plant, and I have to say the day was a complete success. The landscape away from the metropolis is beautiful and shows a completely different side of Chongqing.

After visiting the Wulong Three Natural Bridges, we came across a small family celebration. Elias asked us if we would like to have lunch with the family. We agreed and asked if we could join them for a meal in exchange for a small donation. They were very happy to have us, and Elias translated everything perfectly. We will never forget this unique experience.

Through Journey with Jackson we (group of 3) managed to schedule a tour to see the outskirts/countryside of Chongqing. Our Tourguide – Elias, picked us up at 7am & organized all entry ticket fees etc. One way drive around 2h30min. He speaks good english & a bit of german which made it easy for us to communicate with him. Elias recommended some food spots on the way which we tried & they were excellent. He was very attentive & exceeded our expectations. Wulong was very nice & the nuclear bunker was interesting to see.This is an easy tour, so it can also be done with kids.
He brought us back to our hotel around 7:30pm. Plan-in up to 12h – it’s fully worth it.

Listening is an awesome tour guide and the entire Mountain City tour has been designed perfectly for seeing the many corners of Chongqing in a day. I really enjoyed my time learning about Chongqing from her and can tell how much she loves her city. Highly recommend!

The tour and Listening were amazing! Listening was sooooo informative and fun. She was amazing with our son – they became besties right away. Listening shares so much interestjng facts and context to our tour and brought a depth of knowledge in response to all our questions. The tour was impressive, we saw so many amazing sites in the city that we never would have found on our own. It was great to move around by car, train, bus, and walking so that we could maximize the experience and see as much as possible. We truly hope to return to Chongqing again someday and would love to do another tour with you!

For our first visit to Chongqing, we booked the Cuber City Tour with “Journey with Jackson,” and it was, without a doubt, the best decision we could have made – We’re a group of 3 first timers to Chongqing. We booked the tour for our first full day we had in this city.

From the initial easy booking process to the final drop-off, everything was seamless. Our guide, Kojima, met us at our hotel and immediately made us feel welcome. His friendly and knowledgeable presence set the tone for an exceptional day.

The greatest strength of this experience is its complete flexibility. The tour is fully customizable based on your interests. There was no fixed schedule or feeling of being rushed. Kojima expertly adapted the day to what we wanted to see, eat and do, allowing us to fully immerse ourselves in each location. He had a few must see spots which he showed us.

Kojima went above and beyond. He didn’t just guide us—he shared the day with us, joining for both lunch and dinner. He selected local spots and recommended dishes he thought we’d enjoy.
As a native who grew up in the heart of Chongqing, his insights were really interesting. He has a gift for blending rich historical context with the city’s striking modern energy, all while being incredibly engaging and fun to be around.

We started at 11 a.m., and the day was so enjoyable that we didn’t return until around 10 p.m. We also added the photo service, which I highly recommend. Kojima has a great eye and provided us with a beautiful collection of professional-quality photos, capturing the essence of our journey.

Price is absolutely fair for the time spent and quality provided. Alipay/WePay etc works. We paid an initial minor deposit – rest at the end of the tours. Thanks to Kojima, Jackson and the Team for making it happen.

My teenage sons and I gave this tour with Jackson to their dad for his birthday and at its conclusion he said it was his best birthday present ever. Jackson helped us navigate his incredible city and took us to parts of it we would never have found without him. He was super friendly, thoughtful (organised a special lunchtime birthday cake at no extra cost) and informative. We couldn’t possibly ask for more in a tour guide. He deserves six stars out of five and we are already recommending that friends and family come to Chongqing because of him. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience!

I found this tour through TikTok after seeing Jackson share content about how fascinating and intentional the city’s structure is. His videos immediately stood out for how thoughtfully he explained the city, and they inspired me to book this experience while traveling with my parents. I am so glad I did.

Service and overall experience:
From the very beginning, Listening created an incredibly warm and welcoming atmosphere. We were greeted thoughtfully, even given a small goodie bag, and the entire tour felt unhurried and personal. Listening took the time to make sure everyone felt included, answered questions with care, and even stayed a bit later so the experience did not feel rushed. That sense of intentionality made the tour feel special. Often this matters just as much as the content itself, and it truly elevated the experience.

Information and storytelling:
The information was exceptional. It was clear, engaging, and easy to digest without ever feeling simplified. Listening has an incredible ability to weave together history, urban design, and cultural context in a way that feels intelligent and approachable. What stood out most was how seamlessly the explanations connected historical background with modern relevance and pop culture. It kept both my parents and me fully engaged throughout.

Tour stops and pacing:
The stops were extremely well curated and thoughtfully sequenced. Each location felt intentional and added a new layer of understanding to how the city is structured, how people move through it, and why it developed the way it did. Nothing felt like filler, and the pacing was perfect. By the end, I felt genuinely enriched and completely satisfied. 10 out of 10.

I contacted the Journey with Jackson team a few days before our trip, and they quickly, kindly helped me confirm a date and time for the Mountain City tour. Our larger family of five required a vehicle rental. It was great to experience the luxury of the VOYAH electric car. Our guide Kojima arrived early and drove very safely. Although we spent a full day with Kojima and would normally be tired, we left the tour full of energy and a newfound love for Chongqing. My mom, who grew up in China, even said that Chongqing is now her favorite city in China. Kojima took us to so many relaxing, beautiful sites that we would never have found on our own. He brought an imaginative, playful energy to the tour, and we loved hearing about his childhood stories. The lunch, coffee stop, and dinner were all delicious. This was the last day of our family’s trip to Chongqing, and I can’t think of a better way to have spent it!

Thank you for a fantastic tour of Chongqing from a local perspective — we really appreciated getting a view of daily life outside of the super touristy areas. Seeing the many layers of the city was a fascinating way to learn about the history and culture of Chongqing. Emma was an excellent and knowledgeable guide who pointed out many interesting tidbits and photo opportunities along the tour route. She was very accommodating and considerate of our needs throughout the day. I recommend this tour to folks who don’t mind getting their steps in and want to get away from the standard Chongqing hotspots.

Our guide Listening Li was so lively, warm and attentive! She held onto my mother-in-law’s arm to help her move around as she has mobility issues. After we said our goodbyes, we ran into trouble at the train station when there was a mistake about one person’s passport. Listening came straight back immediately and helped us out. We are really grateful for this tour and had a great time even though it was a rainy day.
